David, new itsme intern

Hi everyone! I’m David, a student of Theory and Technology of Communication at University of Milano-Bicocca and I’m starting my student internship in ITSME as “advertising & communication adept”. During my apprenticeship I will analyze the community aspects and key factors to develop alternative communication/marketing strategies, both offline and online, to enlarge the ITSME community and to growth its brand awareness. For every candidate strategy I will speak with the community, to search for collaboration or feedback (this is very very important) about it. In the next weeks I will probably also publish a survey online, to know something more about you and to understand what kind of population I have to consider. See U soon, David

Hi there,

I’m Ally. Now I’m studying Master in Business Design at Domus Academy in Milano. Before I came here, I was a project manager and online event planner of a social networking website in Taipei, Taiwan. Due to this work experience, I started enjoying working in internet social networking industriy and want to try and learn more different tasks in this field. During the stage period at ITSME, I will propose and implement a video format in order to distribute the information that ITSME has, to the community and networks. I think this could be interesting for people who want to know more detail about ITSME and it may increase cohesion bwteen the ITSME community.

itsme tshirt owners. It’s who?

Few weeks back we launched an online concept evaluation, and we had promised an itsme t-shirt and badge to 10 of all the responses we get. Only 10 , because we cannot possibly send a t-shirt to all the responses, but we thank everyone none the less. Here are the names of soon to be itsme t-shirt owners

Itsme: me too!
My name is Isabella, but you can call me simply Isa. I study at the University of Siena… not for long, I hope . When I graduate, I will have the possibility to say I’m an interaction designer. I like to find out new ideas and innovative solutions, by studying the interaction between users and technology, with the aim of developing new contexts for communication. Working contexts, learning contexts, entertainment contexts. I chose to serve these 3 months of internship at Itsme. The idea of a workstation, where people meet each other in venues and create stories fascinated me. During these 3 months I will be committed to explore new forms of interaction, lead focus groups and tests with users. I will also be sharing my work over here on this blog, so stay tuned!

I’m Simona and in the near future I’ll be an interaction designer ! I’m studying Design di ambienti per la comunicazione at University of Siena and now, with great pleasure, I’m doing a three months internship with itsme team. I consider myself a creative person and sometimes I enjoy doing hand-made works. The first time I heard about Itsme was at university course of “Nuovi media per la conoscenza” and it seemed like a very interesting project! Hey there,
I’m Duccio, Industrial designer. When I first heard about Itsme project I immediately asked for an internship and luckily, I got it. My role then, was to be the problem maker. Itsme was appearing infront of the public for the first time at Smau and had to be ready to answer a lot of questions. I tried to put these questions to surface ...Now I joined the Open Innovation team and I have been assigned tasks to carry out research related to services and product offerings. I will also be helping the team to coordinate workshops in collaboration with different universities. We’re always scouting for new Innovation tools and possibilities and in the meanwhile, I’ll be working on this . Besides Itsme I’m also involved in research on materials in product design field at DesignInnovation studio here in Milan and finishing my master in Design&Engineering at Polytechnic of Milan. Got the love for Products and cool projects like Itsme.

Fabio Erculiani
I am a 23 years old guy, living in Trentino, on top of the Garda lake. I love mixing jokes (thus fun) with daily work (thus my job), I sometimes feel like “Luigi Pirandello”(if you know what I mean). I was 18 when i started working on a project, which is now called Sabayon. My hobbies are reading IT books (dude, I’m a geek!), movies and listening to music (any kind is fine, from Punk/Metal to Pop/Dance, I really don’t care).
Talking of Itsme, what I like about this project is that it’s quite cool to be a part of something that will change the way people interact with technology in the near future. It’s also fun for me, mixing it with regular jobs would be somewhat explosive!

Michele Tameni
I’m a student of information engineering at Università degli Studi di Brescia. Meanwhile I’ve worked for several years as a freelance developer for many companies in this area, to pay my university bills . In 2002, I started a small project called amdplanet, this site became an important source about hardware related things in no time, and a quite large community has grown around it.
I got fascinated with a PC, the first time i used it. So I studied how to program and how it’s built etc. Some time later I got an internet connection, and I discovered a whole new world of knowledge. I started using GNU/Linux and got introduced to the open source world. I met Fabio (above) in a forum, we discussed about hardware and so on… and our good friendship grew to what is now called Sabayon(my role is very marginal compared to Fabio’s…). On the non Tech-Front i love Photography, reading books, and cooking.

Vincenzo Di Massa
I have contributed in a number of Open Source projects: Linux, KDE, FANN, LTIlib.
I’m an Organizer of the “La creatività nelle Macchine” (presented at the “Festival Della Creatività” exhibition) 2006-2008 editions.
Developer of the HuMoR advanced video surveillance system sold by Integra Solutions. Researcher in Intelligent Systems design (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Search Engines) and Computer Vision during Ph.D. and Post-Doc.
Open Source development, GUI design, modular system design, are some of my specialities. Besides all this, I love my Dog who is named Grub, the Alps, Skiing and snowboarding. you can find more about me through my blog, or linkup with me on facebook.

Scenarios by Superheroes

We love it when we receive feedback on our project, and we love it even more when someone tries to imagine different possibilities with Itsme. Like this week we received some explorations on Itsme scenarios from some of our superheroes(we introduced earlier). We happen to think that it is “so very bravo of them” to have developed these scenarios all by themselves. The scenarios are in Italian, but we really wanted to share them with you all, so here they are…

The first scenario tries to imagine the management of digital photos online and offline using Itsme.

The other three scenarios are in a slideshow format. Each envisioning a different persona with a different task to be performed using Itsme. -Enjoy-

Mr. Piol

Today I was at “Palazzo dei Giureconsulti” for the book launch of Elserino Piol’s last work.
Many panelists, Giampio Bracchi, Giancarlo Capitani, Umberto De Julio, Francesco Miggiani; also Giorgio was there, speaking of startups, Innovation and Itsme of course.
But the reason why I’m writing this post is that I was really very impressed by Mr. Piol’s talk.
77 years of experience (he is one of the fathers of Italian venture capitalism, what he calls “good finance”) and a very smart vision about what is “innovation system” and how it can be developed.

Meet our superheroes

Say Hi to our superheroes who are helping us out with the evaluations at FDC in Florence.

Here are some pictures highlighting only a few of their superpowers.

1. Ability to know anything and everything about the concept evaluation.

2. Ability to manage all aspects of an evaluators visit to Itsme stand. This includes, but is not limited to, detailed description of the concept with the demo, recording all observations and queries made by the evaluator, not letting any evaluator leave without the Itsme t-shirt.

3. Ability to assist more than one evaluator at a time, and to generate, initiate discussions while doing so.

4. Ability to understand any form of language, geek, creative, managerial or arty.

5. Ability to render Itsme user unseen to the naked eye.

6. Ability to revive energies rapidly for their next evaluator.

You can meet them in person at Festival della Creatività. It is on until tomorrow, the 26th of October.
