The emulator has been online for about three weeks now, and we have constantly been trying to improve the user experience by adding some features. In these three weeks we have also tried to get in touch with new members of the website, and some experts from the industry to hear about their opinions with regards to the emulator. The comments that we received have initiated lot of discussions and food for thoughts in recent days. Some of these discussions, and comments are on the website (here, here , here, and here), while some of them are in your minds....
Hi There,
I am sure all of you have experienced the Emulator and hopefully it has been good so far (from what i am hearing).
From our end, we have been adding new features to the emulator. Did you notice ?
The new features are:-
HIGHLIGHT FEATURE: An efficient way to see items of different kinds that are logically related (e.g., a post, its attachments, its author, and messages from the same person);
COMMENT ON A POST: Earlier you could only read posts from the emulator, now you can comment aswell ;
CROSS VENUE DRAG AND DROP: For a better experience, you can now send a...
Yesterday we made our debut in germany at EUD'09, with Giorgio's talk. The talk illustrated the main features of itsme(from a design and technology viewpoint), explaining how the roots of itsme workstation are grounded in the CSCW research, and the many interaction and collaboration possibilities itsme offers to interested groups and users. The audience was mostly composed of computer scientists, academics who do their research paying great attention to users. The talk was followed by a series of questions, mostly the ones that follows us everywhere: why are we planning to have a specific hardware, and not only developing software,...
Over the past few months we have defined the ID Model, released explorations of Interaction Paradigms and Preliminary GUI, to achieve a detailed design of itsme visual interface. But until we understand how people perceive them, we’re not going to make good use of the work we have done until now.
We need to know how do you perceive itsme functionalities, what values do you attribute to itsme features, how well, you think, we have been able to interpret the concept “stories and venues”, and further investigate to identify and understand user needs. Only then can we begin to make informed...
In October 2008 we invited all of you to join us at SMAU and FDC to evaluate the concept of Itsme workstation. We adopted a Persona based evaluation method, where we showed our community 4 scenarios, followed by questionnaires and interviews. The aim was to basically evaluate the functional features that we have designed until now, analyse Itsme key values and issues, and delve deeper into the concept to understand how users perceive it.
We conducted 117 interviews, and 201 completed questionnaires. In the presentation below you can see our findings and the analysis made from the evaluation. Oh and we...
The evaluations in Milan have taken place, and are beeing assessed now.
We would once again like to thank you for coming along to the Milan event, for evaluating the concept, for asking such great questions, for being really friendly and critical (at times) and for making our first “Come design Itsme with us” so very brilliant.
Now we are getting ready to face the evaluators at Festival della creatività in Florence, from 23rd to 26th of October (starts this week). Email serena.debiasi@itsme.it for more...
The fair overall had slow traffic today, but we did just fine. We attracted about more than 40 visitors out of which 25 took the concept evaluation test and we managed to get 47 evaluations divided amongst all 4 profiles. Please note that these are just rough estimates but we will make sure that the final report is online soon after the event is over.
We recorded some very interesting first impressions today, while some were already friends of Itsme who came over to see how far we have reached in our mission. Enjoy some pictures from today.
