It's been some months since we showed (on this site) our prototype. Of course, our code has evolved – both in its visible part and in what's running underneath (Guglielmo). ITSME INTERFACE DEVELOPMENT
Thanks to the work that the Interaction Design Team has started in the last three weeks on refining the interface qualities of the venue, including graphical and behavioral aspects, (you can find the related post here), the ID team presented the first outputs during the last iterative session with Software Development Team: the first release of itsme GUI package.
The work focused at first on the refinement of the venue graphic user interface, as the core element of the itsme concept and then converged in the consolidation of dimensions and skinning of each graphic item.

itsme is an open source project, but this does not mean that contributing directly on our code will be the only way to integrate new ideas into our system. We have designed (and we are implementing) an architecture that allows extensions to be easily integrated, like simple plug-ins. The basic idea is quite simple: developers will be allowed to create bundles, packages to distribute customized applications or itsme components (e.g., new channels for itsme venues, possibly devoted to peculiar aims). They have locked themselves in the upper floor of Itsme loft, stay there from morning till evening, and all we get to hear are heavy discussions(hard to decipher what’s being discussed), all we get to see are post-its (in bulks) and some lines and blocks that look like flowcharts.

The 4 days of "Come design itsme with us" at FDC are over and we are back to our office in Milan.
From seeing the response we got and the time spent with charged, inquistive yet friendly evaluators, it's been an incredible 4 days of “Come Design Itsme with Us”. We are really grateful to have had this opportunity to show the concept to the visitors and have them evaluate it.
