At TED2009, Tim Berners-Lee called for "raw data now" -- for governments, scientists and institutions to make their data openly available on the web. At TED University in 2010, he shows a few of the interesting results when the data gets linked up.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this power on the whole environment you're working...

ITSME INTERFACE DEVELOPMENT
The Interaction Design Team is now proceeding with the exploration of some visual interface details. A specific investigation was dedicated to the issue of the highlight related mode, one of the leading features of itsme Operating System.
The highlight function allows user to see the contextualized relations between objects: starting from the object triggered, the system shows all the related items inside the venue within one level of depth (you can find more information about highlight in the project page, in the section "itsme: managing your communication and information flow").
The structure of the venue itself well supports the highlight...

Last week we had an intense technical workshop, focused on the (re)design of Guglielmo. We have surveyed many different technological options, in order to understand if (and to what extent) it is viable to reuse existing tools, obviously release as open source software.
Some of the topics we spoke about are presented in the tag cloud, but what's more interesting is to note that we have decided to take seriously into consideration (not that we were not doing it, actually) the option to use some popular building block os Semantic (Web and Desktop) technology.
